I can’t believe it’s the beginning of March, yet I feel so exhausted. I’ve been speaking to a few colleagues and friends as well, who share the same sentiments, so I am glad that it wasn’t just me feeling this way! With that being said, I was really looking forward to the weekend away.
About 150km away from Midrand, on the outskirts of the Bela Bela region, one can find this luxurious Villa tucked in the middle of the Elements Private Golf Resort.
I had a look at the photos on the website and I don’t think they did any justice to the Villa, which I found was much bigger in reality. I loved the space and open plan design. Each of the four bedrooms had its own en-suite. The en-suites were extremely huge, with a bath tub and shower in each of them.
There was also a fifth bedroom on the outside of the house – this had bunk beds that could accommodate 4 people. There was also a shower and toilet in this outside room.
The bar area was huge, with 2 bar fridges and all the glasses and other bar “accessories” one would require.
The kitchen was also very spacious and fully equipped with a gas stove. It also had a scullery with a dishwasher and washing machine.
There was no shortage of cupboards in this villa – across all the rooms and even in the passages.
The entertainment area featured a rock pool, absolutely inviting! There was a patio set of tables and chairs as well as patio couches. There was a gas braai and an electric braai – we however preferred the traditional South African braai so didn’t make use of either of these braai facilities/equipment.
There were various animals which were spotted within the resort. It was nice to see them from such a close distance. I can’t say the same about the frogs/toads that graced us with their presence in the evenings though! I escaped them and stayed indoors when they arrived, which I guess defeats the purpose of going out into the bush.
There are many activities one can engage in, within close proximity of the resort. We decided on zip lining – so we spent the one afternoon there and it ended up being a very interesting experience … we had to travel via a gravel road – approximately 12km. On our way back, between the two 4×4’s we used to travel in, we unfortunately ended up with 3 tyre punctures…ouch! That cost a lot to replace which of course isn’t a reason to smile…but these things happen. Remember to check your tyre pressure – I am referring to the spare as well! We learned the hard way…
If you are looking for a getaway and want to be lost in nature, I definitely recommend Elements Bush Villa 63. I think it will be fantastic if you want to spend the days there, not even going out of the estate, but just relaxing in the Villa itself with great company. Take some board games with, if that’s your thing.
The booking process was seamless, contact details on the www.gameoflife.co.za website. Excellent service from Melissa Joseph (Rental Liaison). She was professional and prompt.
Based on this experience, I am looking forward to another getaway at one of the other properties on the http://www.gameoflife.co.za website. A very attractive portfolio of properties to choose from 🙂
